my puppy’s escape trick

I uncovered this video from a while back and thought I would share it with everyone.  This was my dog.  He’s a golden retriever. Sadly, he died last summer.  However, while he was still alive, he kept magically getting out of his kennel, and we couldn’t figure out how.  There were no holes in the cage, no holes under ground, and he certainly didn’t figure out the latch. So, I had the bright idea to set up a camera and provoke him a little bit.  It turned out to be pretty funny and pretty genius… on the dog’s part, that is. Keep in mind, that fence is about 6 feet high. Enjoy!

my puppy can totally high five

No really, she can.  You put your hand up and say, “High five, Reece”  and she throws her little paw up in the air to meet yours.  I used a fair amount of treats to teach her how to do this so consequently, she thinks that every time she puts her paw up she is going to get one. :)

my puppy

For those of you who haven’t seen her yet, this is Reese. She was an early birthday present from Chelsea and probably the sweetest dog I’ve ever seen. She’s a lab / boxer mix and is somewhere between 4 and 6 months old.  I’ve only had her for 2 days now and already she follows me everywhere i go.  She lays beside me when I am at my computer, she sleeps beside my bed at night, and she walks right beside me when we go for walks.  Today we are going hiking and possibly swimming.  So, we’ll see how that goes.  :)   Standby for more pictures.
