MacBook ProSo, it’s here. After what may be considered by some, and by some I mean me, the longest 4 days in the history of mankind, my computer arrived on my front porch a whole 2 days ahead of its initial eta. It was, at the very least, a pleasant surprise to wake up to this morning. In fact, the only downside to the entire experience was realizing, after I had signed for my package, that I had forgotten to zip up my fly prior to meeting the fedex man on the porch. Meh.

The new computer is everything I imagined it to be, plus some. In fact, the only thing it doesn’t do, is suck. Incase you haven’t figured it out from the picture, I bought me a Mac, and it just goes to show how effective the Mac vs. PC commercials really are. Okay, that wasn’t the sole reason for my purchase, but you have to admit they are catchy. In addition to recently finishing a semester with a multimedia class where the only applications used were Mac-based, I even more recently came across a few individuals who own macs, giving me plenty of opportunity to play around. Needless to say, I caved to the temptation, as I always do, and made the switch from my long Windows running to what can only be described as the elegant and intuitive Leopard, that is OS X.

I must admit, however, that one of the first things I did upon unboxing is install windows on my Mac. Screw Vista. I upgraded and went straight to XP. For the record, I am required to have Windows as part of my major at school and the ability to run both OS’s was a deciding factor in my purchase. The ability to run Windows side by side with OS X is beautiful and almost brings a tear to my eye. I have the best of both worlds at all times. Additionally, the screen savers, the dock, the finder, the spaces, and the customization all make me wish that Apple was in the parade business, cause then I might actually like them. Details aside, if you are looking to by a new computer. I would highly recommend buying a Mac. However, at this point, if one were to ask me, “Curtis, should I buy a Mac?” I would say, “Nay. Do not.” Reason being, I now have a perfectly good dell laptop for sale to the highest bidder. :) I jest. A Mac is a wonderful choice, but be warned, for there is, at this point, only one downside to the Mac and that is the mouse. You guessed it. There’s no right-clicking on this bad boy. While there are alternative methods to “right-click” what is so difficult about adding that extra button? I mean, seriously, everyone wants it, and by everyone I mean me.
